Wednesday tip!

I want to start with giving you some tips occasionally.  They won't come on a regular day in the week, but whenever I feel like it or whenever I have a really great one. And it can be about anything!

My first tip has something to do with the text see above. 'What do you think about this?'. Well, I can tell you it's my own handwriting. That will bring me to to the tip. :-)
It's made by my friend Raoul. And my tip for you today is to visit his blog!
You can find it over here: https://scrapbookingraoul.wordpress.com/

It's really worth the time, because Raoul creates the most beautiful scrapbooking supplies and he's very talented! Here are some examples of his work, which he offers for free on his blog!

That's it for now, but more to come really soon.

Showcase!

As from now on, I'm starting a showcase. As you can see at the top of the blog (where you can find the pages), I added a 'showcase' page. There you'll find some gorgeous layouts made by people who downloaded my designs.

Today I want to show you a gorgeous layout of Marieke. She scrapped some beautiful photos of her daughter at Disneyland Paris meeting the princessess.
Don't you just love this page?

For this layout she used the 'Meeting royalty' word bits, that you can still download at this blogpost: http://saaronline.blogspot.com/2011/06/meeting-royalty-word-bits-freebie.html
She also used a beautiful template made by Fiona. You definately should check out her blog too! http://designsbyfiona.blogspot.com/

Well, I guess that's almost it for now!
Would you like your layouts to be 'showcased' on my blog? All you have to do is write me an email at: designs.by.sarah@hotmail.com, leave a message in my guestbook or just leave a message in one of my blogposts.

I would love to see your work!

Scrap Challenge that I'm hosting

As I told you yesterday, I'm hosting a scrapchallenge over at http://digitalscrapbooking.yourbb.nl/index.php a scrapbooking board for Dutch speaking scrappers.

My challenge is about siggies/signatures. It would be a fun way to brighten up the board, wouldn't it?
So here are the rules:
  • Your signature can not be bigger than 300 pixels x 500 pixels
  • Make a signature including your name/your nickname
  • Use at least one alpha
  • Use at least 6 elemtens including
    • at least 2 flowers, leafs, or something else that's "green" or "earthy"
    • 4 of the 6 elements must be different from each other
  • If you want, you can use a background/paper
  • If you want, you can use a font for some additional journaling
Well, that are the rules.
Everybody who completes his or her signature before July 10th, following these rules, gets a pp.

So, if you're Dutch-speaking, want to meet other scrappers and are in for a challenge... feel free to join us!
If you have any questions about scrapbooking, signatures, the board or anything else... feel free to contact me.

Lots of things to blog about!

I don't know about you guys, but I've got lots of things to say today!

So, lets just start with number 1!
Last Saterday, Jojo nominated my layout at Mouse Scrappers for the LOTW (Layout Of The Week) section. I'm really proud of my nomination! So... thank you so much Jojo. So, this is the layout I'm talking about. It's part of a book about our trip to Disneyland Resort Paris in September last year. I've just started and this is page 5. You can see a little yellow border at the left, that's because this page comes next to a page with the same background. ;-)

Okay, right on to number 2!
I'm moderator and member of a board for Dutch speaking scrappers: http://digitalscrapbooking.yourbb.nl/index.php Every month there's a challenge. Somebody starts a topic with a list of instructions. The thing is to complete a layout following these instructions. I've won last challenge *and I'm so happy about it*. The challenge was to create a layout about a zoo with minimum 8 photo's! Here's my layout. I scrapped about Aquatopia. It's some sort of zoo, but only with fish, seahorses, sharks etc...

Since I'm the winner of last challenge, it's my turn to give the members a list of instructions to scrap with. So, if you're Dutch-speaking (or you understand Dutch), feel free to sign up on the board and enter the challenge. My challenge will be online in a few days! And I will create a participation prize for all those who enter!

Last but not least, I want to tell you about the freebies my friend Fiona made.
She's such a talented scrapper and designer! So if you like her gorgeous freebies, you can download them at her blog: http://designsbyfiona.blogspot.com/

I guess that's about it for now. Stay tuned, because in the near future I will tell you more about the challenge I'm hosting and I will be back with more freebies.

As always, feel free to leave me a message, write in my guestbook or send me an e-mail with your comments, suggestions or just to say hi! I love hearing from you.

Chrome alpha. Another freebie alpha!

I know! I said my next freebie wasn't going to be an alpha, but the plans have changed. I was looking for something I could coordinate with the freebie I'm working... but then I came up with this new alpha, so my other project has to wait a little longer. I hope you guys don't mind. ;-)

So, here it is... my chrome alpha. I hope you all like it and find it very useful.

Download link expired.
Take a look at this beautiful layout Renata made using this alpha. The photo is made during her trip to London a few months ago.

Another one from Renata. She used the alpha for her page about Neeltje Jans. She chrome is perfect for the blue and orange colors.

I think Renata is a huge fan of the alpha, because she used it once again. She is scrapping her citytrip with her boys to London and this alpha just fits perfect.

And last but not least, I wanted to thank you for all your nice comments on my other 2 freebie alpha's.
For those of you, who just discovered my blog, you can still download the Wooden Alpha and Wrinkled Paper Alpha a few blogpost below.

As always, I would love to hear from you... your comments, some layouts you made with my freebies, etc... ;-)

See you next time!

Beer & Pizza at the Boshoef - teambuilding

Friday, June 10th, my co-workers and I had 'Beer & Pizza'. That's how our teambuilding activity was named years ago. The activity we did this year was horseback-riding.
First we had to work. But at 12 O'clock we went to Meerhout, a small town 30 kilometers from where we work.
In Meerhout, you can find 'De Boshoef' a ranch where you can hire horses to make daytrips with horses. First we ate our sandwiches and then it was finally time to get on a horse!
I already had experience with riding a horse, but that was 13 years ago. But I was very keen on riding again.

First we got some information about the horses and everybody got a horse for the afternoon.

My horse's name is Cadans.

When everybody got themself a horse, it was time to go. We had to make a trip for about 3 hours in the woods near Meerhout and Geel. In the beginning, they taught us how to handle a horse, how to move right & left, how to stop, what to do about bugs, what to do if the horses wanted to eat some leafs, etc...

The weather was beautiful and my co-workers and me really enjoyed our trip. The fear some of my co-workers had, dissapeared really fast and everybody was so relaxed. After 2 hours we had a break. We had a glass of water to drink and we could go to the bathroom really fast. But then, it started to rain. Fortunately, when it was time to ride again, the rain stopped! Lucky us! In the second part of my trip, those who had ever went horseback-riding, could go for a gallop. So Thierry and me were the lucky ones. For about 15 minutes whe galopped on our own trough the woods. Heaven! It was really cool! What an experience. After that we joined our group again.

After 3 hours our journey had come to an end. It was time to get back to the ranch. But it was a really great experience and we really enjoyed our time with the horses.

Scraplift Challenge at Mouse Scrappers

Today I made a layout for Scraplift Challenge #18 at Mouse Scrappers.

What is scraplifting?
Scraplifting is finding a layout that you really like and take that as your inspiration to create a layout of your own.

So, here's the layout I created for this challenge:

Credits you can find here:http://www.mousescrappers.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=16257&title=scraplift-challenge23-18&cat=780
